Poetry

Here are some original poems written by Robert Bertrand  based off of the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

Accused
Skin tight, teeth clenched.
As a man becomes prisoner behind bars for
a crime that was not his.
Blamed because of his colour of skin,
an easy target for a man who was angry at the world,
looking for vengeance.

Freedom
We as a people have a god given right.
That right is to be free to not be suppressed by others.
To not do as others have done to not shun what others have shunned.
We are free, free to make our own choices, free to do what we see is fit.
This Freedom is a blessing and a curse, we must use it to help others
to fight for others so that they too can have the freewill that we take for granted
Use your freedom to fight for others rights so that they to can be free.

Change
We change who we are daily, but the biggest change is within ourselves
as child becomes teenager then adult. As we grow older we understand
more about the world and ourselves we throw off old habits
to acquire new ones. Boy becomes man as girl becomes Woman.
